China Hotels
Aran Ventures is currently making a series of investments in
5-Star luxury hotels in China. We focus on mainland cities with demonstrated and durable demand, increasing daily hotel rates, and the potential for substantial increases in real property values.
Aran is currently conducting due diligence on a number of properties and has entered into negotiation with multiple developers. The time period from hotel purchase to opening for these projects typically varies between 6 months and 24 months.
The majority of our hotel properties are already under construction when we acquire them. The recent credit tightening by the Chinese central bank has resulted in a number of projects being available to Aran at substantially below both replacement cost and market value upon completion.

Terminal Operations at Port of Chennai
India's 7,517 km of coast line are served by just 12 major ports, resulting in hundreds of kilometers between neighboring ports. The nearest major port to Chennai is Tuticorin, 600 km (375 miles) to the south.
Aran acquired terminal operations at the Port of Chennai (formerly Madras) on the southeast coast of India in November 2002. Aran's Chennai wharf facilities consist of a 218 meter berth on Jawahar Dock ("JD-1"), and an adjacent 65,000 square meter warehouse. JD-1 is one of only two berths not operated by the Chennai Port Trust, an administrative division of the Government of India. JD-1 is capable of accommodating cargo ships up to 35,000 metric tons with bulk cargo, and up to 30 containers per ship.
